If you haven’t joined BWM as a vendor, we encourage you to do so here. This will ensure you’re one of the first to know when we release new opportunities.

BEFORE YOU APPLY, PLEASE READ:

At Boston Women’s Market, your safety will always come before profits. As many of you have experienced, Assembly Row can become a man-made wind tunnel. After multiple years of experience at this location, we’ve decided this Market Series will be “Tent-Free” until notified otherwise. We’re making this change to ensure a safer, more secure experience for everyone.

What Does this Mean:

  • If you apply and register for this Market Series, you should assume that you will NOT be able to use a 10x10 Tent.

  • About 2 days before Market day, we will be monitoring projected Wind Forecasts closely.

    • If Wind Speeds are projected to be ~17MPH or lower or wind gusts of ~20MPH or less, we will allow 10x10 Tents and notify you that you can bring a tent.

    • If Wind Speeds are projected to be ~17MPH or higher or wind gusts of ~20MPH or higher, we will NOT allow 10x10 Tents and notify you that you cannot bring a tent.

    • If Wind Speeds are projected to be ~23MPH or higher, the market date will be rescheduled to a future TBD date.

This isn’t a decision we’ve made lightly—we understand that tents are an important part of your setup, and we recognize that this change may impact your decision to participate. That said, we’ve experienced multiple incidents of high wind at Assembly Row, many of which have put vendors and shoppers at risk.

If you decide to participate:

  • Artwork vendors with price-points ranging from $1-$50

  • Vending Space Size: 10ft x 10ft

  • Both Tented & non-tented vendor spots are available

  • A minimum of 150lbs of weight is REQUIRED for tents. This is non-negotiable for everyone’s safety.

Location Details:

  • You asked, and we delivered! Market hours have been extended from 4PM to 5PM this year!

  • The Market will be held along a closed street within the Assembly Row commerce area between Shake Shack and Tatte.

  • This Market has been dubbed “Windy City Market” by some of our vendors, and for good reason. Even on a not windy day, it can be windy at Assembly. If lightweight items, shelved, signs, etc., blowing away or dropping are a concern of yours, this may not be the best location for you.

  • There are very few vendor spots that are shady 100% of the day. One side of the road is shady in the morning, while the other is shady in the afternoon. But we cannot guarantee that all vendors will be able to be placed in a shady spot for the day.

  • Vendors will be given (1) parking pass per participating business to park in the nearby Ashley Furniture parking lot (~4 min walk from market).

  • Wifi and Electricity is not available.

  • Bathrooms can be found inside nearby restaurants & cafes.

Our Application Process:

  • If your application is accepted: You will received registration information via Email to secure your spot for each unique vending opportunity you apply for by the notification date specified. You must register & pay by the specified due date, or your spot will be released to a vendor on our waitlist.

  • If your application is waitlisted: You will be notified via email that you’re on our waitlist and we will notify you if a spot opens up in your product category.

  • How To Add Yourself To The Waitlist: We encourage you to still submit an application even if the Due date has passed or we are at waitlist! If you have applied after the Application Due Date, you will automatically be added to our waitlist and we you reach out if a vendor spot becomes available due to cancellations.

How We Use Your Vendor Fee:

At BWM, we want to be open and honest about how we use your vendor fee. We always aim to put your fee to good use and ensure that our events are a success for your small business!

Here are some ways we plan to use your vendor fee for this event:

  • Paid and Organic Online Marketing efforts

  • Print Marketing and Promotional and Directional Signage

  • Labor costs for BWM Staff

  • Event Decor and supplies

  • Investment in future BWM initiatives

Our Cancellation Policy:

We understand life events occur and plans change! Please review our cancellation policy thoroughly before applying to ensure this is the right opportunity for you.

To cancel, you must notify BWM via e-mail at hello@Bostonwomensmarket.com by the following dates:

  • 100% refund: If notified at least 10 days before the date of the event.

  • 50% refund: If notified at least 9 days before the date of the event.

  • No refund: If notified 8 days or less before the date of the event.

Bad Weather Event Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellation Before The Event Date: If the Boston Women’s Market team cancels an event due to inclement weather (wind, rain, storms, heatwave, snow storms, etc.) before the event date, you will receive a refund of your registration fee minus 18%. Table & Chair rental fees will be refunded 100%.

  • Cancellation Day-Of Event: If the Boston Women’s Market team cancels an event due to inclement weather (wind, rain, storms, heatwave, snow storms, etc.) the day of the event, you will receive a 50% refund of your registration fee. Table & Chair rental fees will be refunded 100%.

Why are we now charging a 18% fee?

As you can imagine, a great deal of time, effort and money has already been spent well in advance of knowing we will need to cancel an event due to weather. Each time we have to cancel an event, BWM loses hundreds (sometimes thousands) of dollars that has already been spent on advertising and labor. Additionally, we have to re-do all our labor and marketing to re-advertise an event if it is moved to a new date. In order to help plug this large leak and keep us financially stable, we have decided to implement this new policy. This is not a decision that we have taken lightly. We personally know how important every dollar is to a small business. We hope you can understand why we have to implement this new policy.

This Bad Weather policy will apply to:

  • Events that have been cancelled and no rescheduled date can be established

  • If an event has been rescheduled to a new date, and you cannot participate in the new date
